Roma offers several systems for use under tile and stone floors. Our 2 most popular systes are our Heat Mats and Loose Wire Kits, (also see under concrete and ribbon mats).
Heat Mats
Roma wire heat mats are designed for use under tile and stone flooring. At either 150 or200 watt per m2 they are all suitable for use as a primary heat source assuming 70%+ floor area is covered. 150watt models are ideal of normal domestic situations where as 200watt units are ideal for high heat loss areas such as conservatories or commercial entrance areas.
Roma Underfloor heating systems require no specialist tools or labour to fit making them suitable even for DIY instillation. The only qualified person required is the electrician to connect them to the mains power.

Loose Wire Kits.
Roam Loose Wire Kits are designed for use under tile and stone flooring. Based on 150watts per m2 they are suitable for use as a primary heat source assuming 70%+ floor area is covered. The exact watts per m2 can be altered according to the required output per m2 by either reducing or increasing the spacing between wires. Roma loose wire kits are ideal for awkward and irregular shaped floor areas as the wire can be laid easily without hindrance in any direction or around most obstacles. The kits come complete with spacing / fixing straps and additional hold down fibre tape.

Fitting Loose Wire Kits and Heat Mats.
Loose Wire Kits
Below is a diagrammatic typical loose wire layout. Typically the floor would first be marked out spacing the wires evenly to provide the desired watts per m2. This tends to be between 50 – 80mm between wires depending upon watts per m2 required. The spacing / fixing bar can then mechanically fixed to the floor either side of the room allowing the cable to be wound back and forth between ,the fixing straps. In awkward areas such as round toilet cisterns the fibre tape can be used to hold down the wire to allow the wire to follow the outer edge of the obstacle being avoided.
Heat Mats
Roma heating wire mats are designed to be rolled out over the sub floor and held in place with there own self adhesive backing. The wire can be separated from the mesh backing to allow the heating to be positioned in virtually any location and direction. In large regular shaped areas however the mat is simply rolled out back and forth over the floor area making sure not to overlap at any point.
