Roma Heat Film and Ribbon heat mats incorporate the latest in underfloor heating (UFH) technology. Both designed for use use direcly under wood and laminate floors and suitable for use as the primary heat source, (also see under concrete system)
Heat Film.
Roma heat film is the thinnest UFH system current available. At 200watts per m2 it is a high output system and one of the only systems available for use as the primary heat source under wood and laminate floor. Heat film is the also the only system made to measure as the mats can be made to almost any length required prior to being fitted. Heat film can be used under carpet & vinyl flooring but requires additional staggered layers of hard board laid over the film .
Ribbon Heat Mats.
Roma Ribbon Heating mats are the most versatile heating system curently available. It is the only heating system capable of being fitted directly under all floor coverings , (except vinyl), & suitable for use as the primary heat source. At 150watts per m2 it is arguably the most efficient system available and is currently used for heating on parts of the international space station
What size mats ?
When deciding on what mat sizes you require for either film or ribbon it is advisable to first make a accurate drawing of the floor area you are installing the heating. Included on the diagram should be all measurements and any obstacles obstructing the heating / floor area. Like a puzzle you can then fit various sized mats over the floor area to achieve the desired coverage / mat layout.
Once laid mat connection tales are then either connected together or run back and wired directly into he thermostat before being linked up to the mains
