By isolating the sound source from the receiving surface, SP decoupling effectively eliminates the path through which vibrations travel, thus reducing the likelihood of sound transfer.

In an ideal environment, where all variables align perfectly, SP decoupling can provide a reduction of up to 13 dB in sound intensity, similar to the effect of attenuation.

However, while attenuation focuses on diminishing sound energy, SP decoupling offers a more fundamental solution by stopping the transmission of vibrations, which is often more effective in controlling noise at its source.

Use in wet or damp areas prior to tiling/flooring to create a waterproof layer in both residential and commercial applications including bathrooms and shower rooms.
